Saint Patricks Free Travel + Street Teams + Greening of Global Iconic Buildings all in the works =
Iconic buildings around the globe such as the Sydney Opera House, the London Eye, the Empire State Building and the CN Tower in Toronto will be turning green for St Patrick’s Day.
Tourism Ireland is co-ordinating the specials.
The greening of buildings around the world by Tourism Ireland also includes plans to use street teams of musicians and dancers to appear in open spaces such as railway stations or town squares to grab public attention, in the run-up to St Patrick’s Day. Free travel on trains etc in Ireland for all over 66ers including tourists is in the works too.
It was recently announced in Guadalajara, Mexico that Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe region has been chosen to host the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games. The decision was made by the Pan American Sport Organization (PASO).
The three cities bidding to host the Games are Bogotá, Colombia; Lima, Peru and Toronto, Ontario. Toronto along with other communities in the area known as the Golden Horseshoe.
All are ready with their bids and will make their final presentation to the Pan American Sport Organization (PASO) in Guadalajara, Mexico next week.
