OK the following are my ramblings on a subject that is live.

Facebook, why is it so popular. It’s all over the place at the mo. Every site has Facebook shared linked api’s all over the gaff. Dailymotion for instance looks more like Facebook Dailymotion right now. My reasoning = Dailymotion doesn’t look so distinct with all the api add ons. It kinda nullifies the point of being Dailymotion and alot of other sites that have gone for api add ins-ons overkill. Just my opinion today.

Youtube has alot of share options but for the most part are tucked away. I use them myself . Our litle ole aindreas.com is an on-going work in progress. The progress is to make it look kinda unique, like it looked before I changed the layout last time but different.  I’ll just as soon get rid of the api add ons if this site became a clone of every other. So my mission is to make it look different.

So, where was I… What was I wanting to write about..

Geeky Stuff = Facebook celebrates its 6th year of operations and has rolled out another new design on Facebook proper.

Kinda looks like a myspace lite. Facebook lite is still around if you have slow broadband live access or just like it real clean and simple.
Facebook display ad agreement with Microsoft… has changed. Now Facebook retain control over the display ads. Microsoft retains the  text ads aswell as Facebook search control.

Live messenger is integrated into Facebook more. I like.

Central European Clock. Show starts at 20:15 C.E.T!

Tonight at 20:15 CET, Europe will tune in for the 7th running of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, live from the Palace of Sports in Kyiv, Ukraine. Young talent hopefuls from 13 countries are taking part in this year’s running. Right thru Saturday and during the show, you can interact with your Facebook friends through the Eurovision TV live streams.

Facebook plans to double the size of its Irish operations as it officially opened its new European headquarters on Hanover Quay, Dublin city centre this week.

Facebook’s European operations have been headquartered in Dublin since 2008.

Facebook is increasing its investment in order to scale its operations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East and support its users and advertisers as the company grows.

Facebook has just issued the following press release:

“PALO ALTO, CALIF.—August 10, 2009— Facebook today announced that it has agreed to acquire FriendFeed, the innovative service for sharing online. As part of the agreement, all FriendFeed employees will join Facebook and FriendFeed’s four founders will hold senior roles on Facebook’s engineering and product teams.”

It’s 5.10 in Ireland & I just updated my facebook. With 67 millon facebook users the site didn’t crash with all the name placements taking place in the last few minutes
